I shudder when I think about where we’d be with GWB / McCain / Romney.

ROMNEY: “I cannot predict precisely what the rate would be at the end of one year. I can tell you that over a period of four years, by a virtue of the polices that we put in place, we get the unemployment rate down to 6 percent, perhaps a little lower.”

~~~
Yep, Romney said that if he were elected, and given a chance to implement his bold economic vision, freeing the nation of the scourge that is Obama’s crushing agenda, the unemployment rate would drop to “6 percent” – maybe even “a little lower” – by the end of 2016.
Of course, President Obama defeated Romney with relative ease, leaving Americans with economic policies that helped push the unemployment rate to 5.9% – in the middle of 2014, more than two full years ahead of Romney’s goal.
Remember the closing days of the 2012 presidential campaign when Mitt Romney ran that explosive ad suggesting Chrysler was going to stop building Jeeps in Ohio and move production to China?
The one that got “Four Pinocchios” from the fact-checker at the Washington Post?
The one Romney himself echoed in a speech he delivered near the Jeep plant in Ohio: “I saw a story today that one of the great manufacturers in this state, Jeep, now owned by the Italians, is thinking of moving all production to China.” Right afterward, Meat Loaf performed.
~~~

Anyway, that Jeep plant? It didn’t move to China. And it’s actually doing quite well.

No, scratch that: It’s going gangbusters.

Demand for Jeeps is so high that Chrysler workers are clocking 60 hours a week and still can’t keep up. So according to the Toledo Blade, the company is planning on hiring up to 1,000 part-time workers—American workers, in Ohio—so they can crank out enough Jeeps to meet the demand.

The Republican Party

1

There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what … who are dependent upon government (Social Security, Medicare, Veterans, etc), who believe that they are victims. … These are people who pay no income tax. … and so my job is not to worry about those people. I’ll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives”  – Willard Romney

2011 Income Tax – The Romneys paid 14.1%.  And you?

The segment started off well enough. It was really just a puff piece about the meaning of Thanksgiving in people’s lives. Things derailed quickly however, when the interviewer asked Palin about the controversy surrounding the holiday.

Palin sat dumbfounded (See photo) unaware of any controversy.

The host went on to fill her in on the fact that many Native American tribes do not celebrate the holiday. In fact, it is a day of mourning for them. And those that do celebrate the day do so because it is a reminder that they survived mass murder, forced relocation, the theft of their land and many other injustices.

Palin’s response was astounding, “Thanksgiving is for REAL AMERICANS not Injuns. We founded this Christian nation. Why if it wasn’t for the God-fearing pilgrims, the natives would still be running around in loin cloths shooting at things with their arrows.”

The gracious host tried to save her by stating, “Surely, you’re aware that the Indians were the native population of this country and were driven from their homes by the European settlers.

This further incited Palin and her rant continued, “I’ll tell ya what I know. I know that these tribes do a lot of whining. I mean they got special rights up the wazzoo. They have those casinos all over the place. Seems to me they got a great deal. If they would just put down the bottle and whatever they’re smoking in those peace pipes and get a job like the rest of us, they’d be alright. I see it all the time in Alaska with the Inuit. They just don’t want to join the rest of us. They’re still hunting whale for gosh sake.”

The station quickly went to commercial break and Palin was gone when the show resumed.

Willard Romney – ‘STILL a GOP Moron!’

Via: Huffington Post

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, speaking more than a year after he lost to President Barack Obama, acknowledged Friday that his campaign failed to attract minority voters.

“The place that my campaign and I fell short was probably in being able to speak openly and effectively to minority populations. We didn’t get as many African-American voters as we should have, didn’t get as many Hispanic voters as we should have,” he said on “CBS This Morning.” “Across the board, we need to do a better job explaining why it is that our policies will lead to higher wages, better health care, better schools.”

1. “didn’t get as many Hispanic voters as we should have.”

FACT: During the GOP presidential debate in Tampa, Fla., Romney was  asked how he would address illegal immigration, and said he favored what he  called “self-deportation.”

“The answer is self-deportation, which is people decide they can do better  by going home because they can’t find work here because they don’t have legal  documentation to allow them to work here.”

definition: ‘self-deportation’ – Make it so damn tough on ‘em, they will simlply leave!

2. “Across the board, we need to do a better job explaining why it is that our policies will lead to higher wages, better health care, better schools.”

Romney decided against VP pick Christie because he was disgusted by his weight

1

Via: examiner.com

During the 2012 presidential election, there was heavy (HEAVY?) speculation on who Mitt Romney would pick as his running mate. While it ended up being Rep. Paul Ryan, many thought it would be governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie.

Chris Christie has been a popular governor of a traditionally blue state in New Jersey and has found a balance between conservatives and liberals that many politicians can’t seem to grasp. Christie’s biggest challenge comes from the left of the Democratic party, as expected, but also from the right of his own Republican party. Many within the fanatical Tea Party wing of the GOP see Christie as too liberal or too moderate and have been critical of his relationship with President Obama following Hurricane Sandy’s devastation of the Garden State in October of 2012.

In the new book ‘Double Down,’ the sequel to 2008’s Game Change, authors Mark Halperin and John Heilemann take readers behind the scenes of the 2012 election and reveal many interesting plot points. According to the book, one reason why Romney decided against choosing Christie as his Vice President was due to Christie’s size and weight issues. Romney has been known as a someone who is health conscious and Christie’s lack of interest in physical fitness bothered Romney to the point that he would often mock the New Jersey governor in front of his aides and staff.

~

“Romney marveled at Christie’s girth, his difficulties in making his way down the narrow aisle of the campaign bus…

Watching a video of Christie without his suit jacket on, Romney cackled to his aides, ‘Guys! Look at that!'”

‘Shallow Hal’ would’ve picked Christie.
