During an appearance on Fox News Thursday night, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) discussed the death of Nelson Mandela, saying the former South African president fought “great injustice” just like Republicans who are battling OBAMACARE.
“Nelson Mandela stood up against a great injustice and was willing to pay a huge price for that. That’s the reason he’s mourned today, because of that struggle that he performed,” Santorum said. “But you’re right, I mean, what he was advocating for was not necessarily the right answer, but he was fighting against some great injustice, and I would make the argument that we have a great injustice going on right now in this country with an ever-increasing size of government that is taking over and controlling people’s lives, and Obamacare is front and center in that.”
The statement, pointed out by Slate’s Dave Weigel in a tweet Friday morning, came after Fox News host Bill O’Reilly claimed Mandela “was a great man, but he was a COMMUNIST.”
And Frothy didn’t add, “Yeah, and a NAZI too!”
Seriously, you just can’t make this shit up.
The segment started off well enough. It was really just a puff piece about the meaning of Thanksgiving in people’s lives. Things derailed quickly however, when the interviewer asked Palin about the controversy surrounding the holiday.
Palin sat dumbfounded (See photo) unaware of any controversy.
The host went on to fill her in on the fact that many Native American tribes do not celebrate the holiday. In fact, it is a day of mourning for them. And those that do celebrate the day do so because it is a reminder that they survived mass murder, forced relocation, the theft of their land and many other injustices.
Palin’s response was astounding, “Thanksgiving is for REAL AMERICANS not Injuns. We founded this Christian nation. Why if it wasn’t for the God-fearing pilgrims, the natives would still be running around in loin cloths shooting at things with their arrows.”
The gracious host tried to save her by stating, “Surely, you’re aware that the Indians were the native population of this country and were driven from their homes by the European settlers.
This further incited Palin and her rant continued, “I’ll tell ya what I know. I know that these tribes do a lot of whining. I mean they got special rights up the wazzoo. They have those casinos all over the place. Seems to me they got a great deal. If they would just put down the bottle and whatever they’re smoking in those peace pipes and get a job like the rest of us, they’d be alright. I see it all the time in Alaska with the Inuit. They just don’t want to join the rest of us. They’re still hunting whale for gosh sake.”
The station quickly went to commercial break and Palin was gone when the show resumed.
“I’m NOT supporting Liz’s candidacy.”
She later clarified: “By supporting, I mean not working, not contributing, and not voting for (I’m registered in Virginia not Wyoming).”
The best she could say of the sister who was once her close friend and confidante was a final postscript: “I’m NOT saying I hope she loses to Enzi (but???).”

Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, speaking more than a year after he lost to President Barack Obama, acknowledged Friday that his campaign failed to attract minority voters.
“The place that my campaign and I fell short was probably in being able to speak openly and effectively to minority populations. We didn’t get as many African-American voters as we should have, didn’t get as many Hispanic voters as we should have,” he said on “CBS This Morning.” “Across the board, we need to do a better job explaining why it is that our policies will lead to higher wages, better health care, better schools.”
1. “didn’t get as many Hispanic voters as we should have.”
FACT: During the GOP presidential debate in Tampa, Fla., Romney was asked how he would address illegal immigration, and said he favored what he called “self-deportation.”
“The answer is self-deportation, which is people decide they can do better by going home because they can’t find work here because they don’t have legal documentation to allow them to work here.”
definition: ‘self-deportation’ – Make it so damn tough on ‘em, they will simlply leave!
2. “Across the board, we need to do a better job explaining why it is that our policies will lead to higher wages, better health care, better schools.”
- higher wages?
- better health care??
- better schools???

“Changing the country isn’t easy. And the establishment is going to fight back. In both parties, they don’t want to change.”
“And so, the reason — the nastier the attacks get — I mean, they’re directed at all of us, they are DIRECTED at the AMERICAN PEOPLE,” he continued. “Because a lot of the folks in Washington don’t want to be held accountable.”
Your anti-women, and anti-minorties, and anti-youth, and anti-LGBT; resulted in you losing in 2o12.
Since then, the GOP positions have become even more abhorant; and you will lose by an even BIGGER MARGIN in 2016.
