Huckabee and the Holocaust

Via: The Daily Beast

The contretemps started Saturday, when both Huckabee and Michele Bachmann gave speeches likening the United States’ fiscal future to the Nazi genocide.

Huckabee gave a speech to the National Rifle Association. He spoke of how, at Israel’s Holocaust museum, he looked over his 11-year-old daughter’s shoulder as she wrote in the guest book, “Why didn’t somebody do something?” Then he said, “We cannot afford to be a eneration that leaves our children with nothing but a huge debt and the very erosion of the freedoms that our founders and our fathers died and gave us so valiantly. And that’s why I say, ‘Let there never be a time in this country where some father has to look over his daughter’s shoulder and
see her ask this haunting question: Why didn’t somebody do something?’”

Naturally, the ADL (Anti-Defamation League), which spends a great deal of time fighting those who would minimize or deny the full scope of the Holocaust, wasn’t happy. “It is highly inappropriate to use America’s mounting debt crisis as ANOTHER occasion to invoke Nazis and the Holocaust, particularly on the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, a time dedicated to memorializing, not trivializing, the 6 million Jews and millions of others who perished at the hands of the Nazis,” said Foxman.

“Naturally, the ADL (Anti-Defamation League), . . .”?

How about ANYONE with the minimal amount of knowledge about history (Nazis/genocide), or a ‘sense of proportinality’, should be outraged at the comparisons to the budget deficit or Obama’s Health Care.

 simply, shameful

Rep. Chris Smith (R-NY) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Think Progress

Redefinition Of Rape:

The bill sponsor Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) faced serious backlash after he tried to narrow the definition rape to “FORCIBLE RAPE.” By narrowing the rape and incest exception in the Hyde Amendment, Smith sought to prevent the following situations from consideration: Women who say no but do not physically fight off the perpetrator, women who are drugged or verbally threatened and raped, and minors impregnated by adults.

Smith promised to remove the language and while it is not technically in the bill, Mother Jones reports that House Republicans used “a sly legislative maneuver” to insert a “backdoor reintroduction” (sodomy?) of redefinition language. Essentially, if the bill is challenged in court, judges will look at the congressional committee report to determine intent. The committee report for H.R. 3 says the bill will “not allow the Federal Government to subsidize abortions in cases of statutory rape” – thus excluding statutory rape-related abortions from Medicaid coverage.

Again, in summary, Smith sought to prevent the following situations from consideration:

1) Women who say no but do not physically fight off the perpetrator

2) Women who are drugged or verbally threatened and raped

3) Minors impregnated by adults

President Obama: “But we don’t need to spike the football”

Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara  – October 9, 1967

Via: L.A. Times

The Obama administration will not release photos showing Osama bin Laden after he was killed by U.S. forces, the president has told CBS News in an interview to air Sunday on “60 Minutes.”

“The fact of the matter is, this was somebody who was deserving of the justice that he received. And I think Americans and people around the world are glad that he is gone. But we don’t need to spike the football,” Obama said.

my opinion:

bin Laden is dead.

Like ‘Che’  he will be made a martyr/hero to many around the world; and someday, a sad day, old men and little kids at your local McD’s will be wearing ‘Che’ and ‘Osama’ t-shirts.

As far as the release of the corpse shots, fuck the ‘deathers’.
