Jules Erbit

Via: History of Art – Pin-up Art

Little is known about Jules Erbit, but this master of pastels was one of the most prolific pin-up artists from the 1930s into the 1950s. His lovely women grace calendars, posters and prints, published by C. Moss, Brown & Bigelow, and others.

Bathing-suit beauties are rare among the works of Erbit, who specialized in more sedate, but nonetheless sensual images. Erbit typifies the glamour approach a characteristic Erbit pin-up features a lovely woman in a gown leaning against the rail of a ship, or lounging in a garden. It’s a soft-focus, flowers-in-the-hair world.

Gingrich® Upset People (read, Callista) Continue To Ask Him If He Still Exists

Via: Wonkette

Despite consistently ranking somewhere below “Have No Opinion” among likely GOP voters in the last 300 or so presidential polls, loser rotted marshmallow Newt Gingrich has refused to drop out of the race. He’s persistently delusional if nothing else. But this poses an existential dilemma for his imaginary supporters: if polls do not think Newt Gingrich is a real human, is he actually just as imaginary as they and his Twitter followers are?

“I have people tell me on a regular basis, ‘Gee, are you still running?’” Newt said to no one in particular.

Gingrich blamed the press for his predicament, his favorite target in the last two debates as well.

“The elite media decided in June, July that I was too conservative, too aggressive, and decided I was out of the race,” he said, calling the coverage “self-fulfilling.”

Those are absolutely none of the reasons that Newt Gingrich is boring to the media, but we’ll probably agree with him on “self-fulfilling” campaign apocalypse whether or not the media was involved.

Did Rick Perry Try To Rough-Sex Ron Paul At GOP Debate?

Via: Wonkette

Dr. Ron Paul’s portion of the Internet is goin’ nutz over the rumored grab-ass Rick Perry was trying to strong-arm Doctor Congressman Paul with, during the Reagan Gravesite Debate.

Why is Rick Perry such a violent psychopath?

Does he just hate freedom so much that he went over and tried to beat up a whiny old man in view of a thousand cameras?

According to the main websites of Middle Earth, the neocon globalist fraud Rick Perry waited until a commercial break to prance (prance?) over to Doctor Paul’s lectern and grab the congressman’s arm, all hard-ass-like (if a hard-ass can wear a big poofy ’70s wig), and then wagged his manicured finger at the Doctor of the Constitution!

But the good doktor himself dismissed it all, according to a thing posted this morning by industry newsletter The Hill:

Rep. Pon Paul (R-Tex.) dismissed Internet rumors that Texas Governor Rick Perry had tried to intimidate him during a commercial break at the Republican debate Wednesday night, saying that there were no “cross words” exchanged between the two ….

“A picture came out last night, it’s on the Internet this morning, with .. I think the governor of Texas, or something? We had several governors up there, but truth was I never met him before,” Paul joked.

That’s not a “joke,” you monsters! That’s a brutalized old man suffering elder abuse who is valiantly trying to maintain his dignity in the face of neocon violence.

GO RON PAUL!, said the Paultards.

Pair ‘ALLEGEDLY’ stole $45K from Walmart to pay for car, sex-change operation

Via: The Daily Courier

Prescott police arrested two Walmart employees Friday on felony charges including burglary. Detectives investigating the incident determined Spencer Danger Cullen, 23, of Prescott, conspired with Adriano Valdes Altiveros III, a 19-year-old Prescott man, over the course of numerous days to commit the burglary, Reinhardt said.

At 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers answered a call about a burglary at the Walmart on Gail Gardner Way in Prescott.

“Through investigation and surveillance video, detectives determined that a key was used to enter a locked cash office where $45,000 in cash had been removed,” Reinhardt said.

“Altiveros distracted cashiers in the front of the cash office when Cullen went inside the office to remove the cash,” Reinhardt said. “Cullen then gave Altiveros the cash.”

Under questioning, Altiveros reportedly told detectives he stole cash from the store the day before to buy a car, and Cullen “told detectives the reason she stole the money was to go forward with a sex change operation,” said Lt. Andy Reinhardt, Prescott Police Department spokesman.

ALL of THEM – ‘GOP Morons of the Day’

Via: Think Progress

REP. MICHELE BACHMANN (R-MN): “More stimulus? Do we really need ‘son of  stimulus’? We passed a trillion dollars in stimulus. Will billions more do the job? There is nothing new here…I hope Congress doesn’t pass this plan.”

REP. DARRELL ISSA (R-CA): “The failed stimulus and its successor policies have proven that massive government deficit spending is not the solution — it is the problem.” Issa also “poo-pooed the president’s job package, saying it sounds like a ‘second stimulus.’”

SEN. LISA MURKOWSKI (R-AK): “Although the plan we heard tonight sounds a lot like a replay of his 2009 stimulus bill, even the President has now come to realize what Americans have known for some time, it simply didn’t work. $800 billion in federal spending got us where we are today.”

SEN. RICHARD SHELBY (R-AL): “This seems to be nothing more than a son of stimulus proposal that will generate more political rhetoric than jobs. If that is the case, I will firmly reject it.”

REP. ANDY HARRIS (R-MD): “We didn’t hear a whole lot new. This is basically ‘stimulus two.’

SEN. MITCH MCCONNELL (R-KY): “Two and a half years after the President’s signature jobs bill was signed into law, 1.7 million fewer Americans have jobs. So, I’d say that Americans have 1.7 million reasons to oppose another stimulus.”

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN REINCE PREIBUS: “Despite one failed stimulus, the President wants even more deficit spending.”

Of course, all of this criticism is based on the incorrect assumption that the 2009 Recovery Act didn’t work.

But as the Congressional Budget Office has continually found, the Recovery Act created or supported MILLIONS of JOBS, keeping the unemployment rate up to TWO POINTS BELOW where it otherwise would have been.

At its height in the third quarter of 2010, Recovery Act funds were supporting up to 3.6 million jobs.

Sally Kern (R-OK) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Think Progress

Now, ahead of the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, Kern is doubling down on her claim that homosexuality poses a greater threat to America than terrorist attacks.

In 2008, Kern said homosexuality is “the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam,” and called it a cancer that is “spreading” across America and “will destroy our young people.”

Now Right Wing Watch reports that a few days ago, she spoke with Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality to promote her new book, The Stoning of Sally Kern. She repeated her claim that homosexuality is “more dangerous” than terrorist attacks because unlike terrorism, we have to deal with it every day:

KERN: Which has destroyed and ended the life of more people? Terrorism attack here in America or HIV/AIDS? In the last twenty years, fifteen to twenty years, we’ve had maybe three terrorist attacks on our soil with a little over 5,000 people regrettably losing their lives. In the same time frame, there have been hundreds of thousands who have died because of having AIDS. So which one’s the biggest threat?

And you know, every day our young people…they’re bombarded with ‘homosexuality is normal and natural.’ It’s something they have to deal with every day. Fortunately we don’t have to deal with a terrorist attack every day, and that’s what I mean. It’s more dangerous, and yes I think that it’s also more dangerous because it will tear down the moral fiber of this nation.
