Breaking News – Romney Spends Most Of Factory Visit Yelling At Employees To Work Harder

NORTHFIELD, OH—Sources at the Gregson-Turner Paper Co. confirmed that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney spent the vast majority of his visit to the company’s Ohio-based factory Tuesday yelling at employees to work harder.

Romney, who said the stop was an essential part of his tour of America’s manufacturing sector, arrived at the facility at approximately 10 a.m. and within minutes began mercilessly hounding workers throughout the plant to “get their acts together” and “start pounding out some paper, c’mon.”

“You people have been at work for nearly four hours and this is all you have to show for it? With all of this equipment?” a frustrated Romney reportedly shouted from the center of the factory while standing near several dozens crates of the day’s completed paper supply. “What a truly pathetic performance. You guys better think about tightening things up around here fast, because what I’m seeing right now is completely unacceptable.”

~

“Now, someone like you we can easily fire,” Romney was overheard telling an employee removing paper bales from the mill’s loading space. “How exactly are you essential? No, honestly, give me one good reason—just one—why you should have a paying job here. Because I look at you and all I see is a pink slip and an extra 25 grand a year that could be funneled somewhere else.”

“I’m telling you, I’ve seen machines do your job way, way faster and for free,” added Romney, jutting a finger into the man’s face. “Remember that. And wipe that stupid look off your face.”

According to company officials, Romney proceeded to outline how dozens of jobs across the paper mill were unnecessary, noting that terminations would be required because, while there were much-needed managerial roles to be filled, current employees “lacked even a basic education” and could not seriously be considered for them.

~

See, if I were in charge, I’d probably just move the entire plant to Taiwan and save us all a big chunk of change,” Romney said. “It’s stupid to overpay a massive, bloated staff like this when someone faster and younger can do all this overseas for a fraction of the price. That’s just common business sense. You’d seriously have to be an idiot not to see that, but hey, maybe that’s exactly what I’m dealing with here: idiots.”

Thanks for all of your support again, guys,” Romney added as he left the factory.

Suzi Schmidt (R-IL) – for the 2nd time in less than a year, the ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Wonkette

Illinois crazytime state lawmaker update alert newsbreak: GOP state Senator Suzi Schmidt, the curiously thrilled human pictured above, was arrested for, uh, “damaging” an animal feed bag belonging to the neighbors and was later served with an “emergency stalking no contact order.”

~

~

From the local ABC News station:

The state senator was arrested on a warrant when a deputy spotted her at a Menards store in Gurnee Tuesday. She is charged with criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to property. Both are misdemeanors.

Schmidt is accused of damaging a neighbor’s animal feed bag last week, and there reportedly was some kind of argument.

Authorities say she has been harassing the neighbors for the last year. A court order shows she sent several harassing texts and emails to the neighbors and allegedly had a confrontation with the neighbors’ 7-year-old son.

Authorities also outfitted the Lake Villa Republican with an emergency stalking, no-contact order, concerning her neighbors.

Yeah, we were hoping for a few more details around that whole “accused of damaging a neighbor’s animal feed bag” part of it, too.

But that is why God gave you imaginations, children!

And Illinois politicians.

Quirky Wall Street Journal Says Firing Government Workers May Lead To Higher Unemployment!

Via: Wonkette

We are sorry, but we do not know what has gotten into the formerly sensible Wall Street Journal. Just listen to this Communist nonsense!

“One reason the unemployment rate may have remained persistently high: The sharp cuts in state and local government spending in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, and the layoffs those cuts wrought.”

We are not buying it, Wall Street Journal!

Everybody knows government jobs come at the expense of private-industry jobs, and that is why Mitt Romney said we should learn the lesson of Wisconsin and have fewer teachers before saying it was “absurd” that anyone would say he said we should have fewer teachers!

The Journal (commie bastards!) takes from this report the bizarre notion that if more people had jobs, unemployment would be lower.

“The unemployment rate would be far lower if it hadn’t been for those cuts: If there were as many people working in government as there were in December 2008, the unemployment rate in April would have been 7.1%, not 8.1%.”

Tokyo – the most expensive city for expats

Via: Huffington Post

Thinking about wrapping up the U.S. portion of your life and bouncing to Japan? First consider asking for a raise.

That’s because a huge number of cities in Japan rank among the most expensive in the world, making them a tough landing pad for any newly-declared expatriates, according to an annual survey by human resource consulting firm Mercer. The survey, which examined 214 cities across the globe, based their cost-of-living calculation on the cost of transportation, food, clothing, household goods and entertainment expenses.

~

The main reason Japanese cities are so DARNED expensive?

Currency valuations, basically.

Just to take an example, because of the strength of the Yuan compared to the U.S. dollar, a pair of Tokyo blue jeans costs nearly three times what it would in New York, according to the report.

The Yen is the currency of Japan

Except for that darn little mistake; TERRIFIC article!

Ayn Rand Paul (R-KY) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Huffington Post

The Senate has turned back an effort by Kentucky Republican Rand Paul to DRASTICALLY CUT food stamp spending and replace the food aid program with block grants to the states (Oh, I don’t know, lets say, Kentucky?).

The 65-33 vote to defeat the Paul amendment was part of debate on a five-year, half-trillion-dollar farm and food bill.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps, makes up about $80 billion of the $100 billion a year cost of the farm bill, providing aid to some 46 million people.

The farm bill would reduce food stamp spending by $4 billion over the next decade by eliminating abuses. Paul’s amendment would have saved $322 billion over the same period by capping spending at $45 billion a year and turning over funding decisions to the states.

“Quotes of the Day”

2012 – Willard ‘Corporations are People Too’ Romney – GOP cadidate for U.S. CEO

“I do believe in linking my incentives and my commitment to the accomplishment of specific goals . . . . I wish we had that happen throughout government — where people recognized they are not going to get rewarded in substantial ways unless they are able to achieve the objectives that they were elected to carry out.”

1992 – Dana Carvey  (Saturday Night Live)

“If I’m President, we get 0% growth, you don’t pay me nothing. 1% growth? Hell, a chimpanzee could run this country and make 1% growth! So you don’t pay me dime one. Got my own plane, don’t need Air Force One. State Dinners? I’ll pay it, it’s nothing to me, sand on the beach! Now, don’t worry about ol’ Ross Perot, I got $3 billion back at home.

Now, here’s the deal. Here’s what I’m trying to tell you. 3% growth in our economy, $120 billion growth in our GNP – I get a billion dollars. Now, think about it, that’s a bargain! You’re up $119 billion. I’m telling you, 2.99% growth, I don’t see a penny, not one red cent. But don’t feel sorry for me – I got $3 billion. I’m gonna be fine.

Now, this here’s a business proposition. Now, see, 4% growth, you pay me $20 billion. The way I see it, you’re ahead $140 billion, see? Now, this ain’t no golden parachute, this isn’t the President GM giving himself a big bonus when the company’s losing money sending jobs to Mexico. I get my money if and when you get yours.

Now, 5% growth, I get $50 billion. Everybody’s happy, see?”
