Arthur Rothstein (July 17, 1915 in New York City – November 11, 1985 in New Rochelle, New York) was an American photographer.

Rothstein is recognized as one of America’s premier photojournalists.

During a career that spanned five decades, he provoked, entertained and informed the American people. His photographs ranged from a hometown baseball game to the drama of war, from struggling rural farmers to US Presidents.

  3. The Wasatch Mountains are in Utah, not Nebraska. The same photo on the Library of Congress website has it correct, along with lots of other Utah photos. The dealer who sold a signed print of it says that it’s labeled Nebraska on the back, so apparently Rothstein himself had it wrong. Of course Nebraska just doesn’t look like this. I learn from this that dealers and curators are not responsible to the fully researched truth, but just the to the label in front of them.
