Aide: Romney values ‘Anglo-Saxon’ (WHITE) ties
Via: UPI
Mitt Romney would restore an “Anglo-Saxon” touch to U.S.-British ties that President Barack Obama doesn’t value, an aide said as Romney was to arrive in London.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee — who begins a weeklong trip to Britain, Israel and Poland Wednesday — is better placed to understand the “special relationship” (because he’s white) between the United States and Britain than Obama, whose father was from Africa (because he’s black), the adviser told the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph in remarks the newspaper speculated might prompt accusations of racial insensitivity (yeah, ya think?).
“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and [Romney] feels that the special relationship is special,” the adviser said, adding, “The [Obama] White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have (SEE PHOTO).”

personal thought:
I spent ’04 and ’05 in the U.K., and the ‘anti-Americanism’ was very evident because many Brits felt the U.S. had suckered ‘Blair – the poodle’ into the war.
I believe for ther most part, I was able to convince them, I did NOT vote for Bush!

Republican Party in California Is Caught in Cycle of Decline
Via: NYT
This would seem a moment of great opportunity for California Republicans. The state has become a national symbol of fiscal turmoil and dysfunction, the Legislature is nearly as unpopular as Congress and Democrats control every branch of government.
But instead, the state party — once a symbol of Republican hope and geographical reach and which gave the nation Ronald Reagan and Richard M. Nixon — is caught in a cycle of relentless decline, and appears in danger of shrinking to the rank of a minor party.
“We are at a lower point than we’ve ever been,” said Representative Kevin McCarthy, the No. 3 Republican in the United States House of Representatives. “It’s rebuilding time.” (yeah, in your dreams!)
Registered Republicans now account for just 30 percent of the California electorate, and are on a path that analysts predict could drop them to No. 3 in six years, behind Democrats, who currently make up 43 percent, and independent voters, with 21 percent.
“It’s no longer a statewide party,” said Allan Hoffenblum, who worked for 30 years as a Republican consultant in California. “They are down to 30 percent, which makes it impossible to win a statewide election. You just can’t get enough crossover voters.”
“They have alienated large swaths of voters,” he said. “They have become too doctrinaire on the social issues. It’s become a CULT.”

SurveyUSA (5-27 – 5-29)
Obama – 57%
Romney – 36%
Spread – 21%
“As California goes, so goes the nation” – probably not in 2012; but 2016, 2020? – damn right!

“Quote of the Day”
Via: Think Progress
Well, it’s obvious that John ‘numb nuts’ McCain didn’t even read the letter because of what he said in accusing Michele and us of making these horrible accusations. There were five letters and there were many things that are stated that are facts in each letter.
And I wish some of these numb nuts would go out and read the letter before they make these horrible allegations about the horrible accusations we’re making. ”

Jack Talbert (L-KN) – ‘Libertarian Moron of the Day’
Via: UPI
Jack Talbert is–sorry, was–a Libertarian running for Congress in Kansas’s 4th District.
“Essentially, when you’re running against Mike Pompeo, you’re drawing straws to see who’s going to lose to him,” said the man formerly known as Talbert, referring to his popular incumbent opponent.
But win or lose, the Libertarian candidate for the Wichita seat is no longer called Jack Talbert, since he legally changed his name to Thomas Jefferson.
“When people see that Thomas Jefferson’s on the ballot, half will think I’m committed to the Libertarian Party, and the other half will probably think I should be committed,” Jefferson told the Topeka Capital-Journal. “But whether you think it’s crazy or not, hopefully it gets people thinking about the founding fathers and Thomas Jefferson in particular and whether we have that form of government still.”
Jefferson said he hopes his candidacy will raise the profile of his “Thomas Jefferson Project,” aimed at limiting the powers of the Federal Reserve and returning to the gold standard (and slavery, perhaps?).
