Michael ‘Heckuva Job’ Brown – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Huffington Post

Michael Brown, the former FEMA director infamously praised by President George W. Bush for doing a “heckuva job” during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, told a local paper that President Barack Obama acted TOO QUICKLY in mobilizing relief for Superstorm Sandy.

“Here’s my concern,” Brown told Denver’s Westword on Monday, suggesting that the official response was actually making people complacent. “It’s premature [when] the brunt of the storm won’t happen until later this afternoon.”.

Brown suggested Obama was just trying to look good.

Colin Powell sticking with President Obama in 2012

Via: TPM

According to Powell, he witnessed “the president get us out of one war, start to get us out of a second war and did not get us into any new wars.

And finally I think that the actions he has taken with respect to protecting us from terrorism have been very very solid.

And so, I think we ought to keep on the track that we are on.”

Think about it:

1. Got us out of the war in Iraq

2. Getting us out of the war in Afghanistan

3. NO NEW WARS

Senator Paul (R-KY): ‘Bomb Everybody Tomorrow’ Is ‘Typical’ Republican Policy

Via: Think Progress

“We shouldn’t be everywhere all the time. We should have a more defensive foreign policy, a less aggressive foreign policy. I think that would go over much better in New England than the typical ‘we need to bomb everybody tomorrow’ policy you hear from some Republicans…there were many Republicans that said let’s stay [in Afghanistan] forever,

there are still some in the Senate who want to for 100 years in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Senator Ayn Rand Paul (R-KY)

personal thought:

If John McCain had been elected president:

1. We’d still have troops in Iraq, and no time table for leaving Afghanistan.

2. We would have bombed Iran; and have been involved, probably on the ground, in Syria.

3. North Korea, don’t even want to think about that.

4. Our deficit would be trillions of dollars higher, because we would of spent the money on weapon systems the ‘Joint Chiefs of Staff’ DO NOT WANT!

~

Note: the Romney ‘defense advisors’ are the SAME neocon ass-holes who got us INTO Iraq.

****

As Senator Paul suggests (R-KY), ‘Keep the U.S. STRONG and SAFE, Re-Elect Obama/Biden!’

“Quote of the Day”; yes, it’s Granma Walnuts again.

Via: Huffington Post

“First of all, the selection is made as to who will best help you get nominated and who you believe is best suited for the role of vice president of the United States.”

“At that time — I’m still proud of my running mate. I’m proud of Sarah and her family and I’m proud of the work that we did.” (how did that work out for ya, Senator?)

“Quote of the Day”

Via: Think Progress

Well, it’s obvious that John ‘numb nuts’ McCain didn’t even read the letter because of what he said in accusing Michele and us of making these horrible accusations. There were five letters and there were many things that are stated that are facts in each letter.

And I wish some of these numb nuts would go out and read the letter before they make these horrible allegations about the horrible accusations we’re making. ”

John McCain (R-AZ) – ‘GOP Genius of the Day’

Via: Think Progress

WOODRUFF: This question of campaign money, highlighted today by the announcement that there’s a huge amount of money coming in from one donor in the state of Nevada.

MCCAIN: Mmmm hmmm. Mr. Adeleson, who gave large amounts of money to the Gingrich campaign and much of Mr. Adeleson’s casino profits, that go to him, come from this casino in Macau.

WOODRUFF: Which says what?

MCCAIN: This which says that obviously, maybe in a round-about way, FOREIGN MONEY is coming into an American campaign, political campaigns.

WOODRUFF: Because of the profits that the casinos in Macau…

MCCAIN: ‘Yes, that is a great deal of money. And, again, we need a level playing field and we need to go back to the realization that Teddy Roosevelt had that we have to have a limit on the flow of money and that corporations are not people. That’s why we have different laws that govern corporations than govern individual citizens.

And so to say that corporations are people, again, flies in the face of all the traditional Supreme Court decisions that we have made — that have been made in the past.’

Paul Bebeu (R-AZ) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Wonkette

Here is the hot American president’s day news for those of you who didn’t spend the weekend searching for “gay wingnut arizona sheriff tries to deport gay mexican lover” on Ask Jeeves:

Beloved right-wing anti-Mexican Arizona sheriff Paul Babeu has been caught trying to deport his homosexual Mexican lover, because Paul Babeu is a homosexual with an unquenchable thirst for the semen of illegal Mexican men.

It is very common for anti-Mexican Republicans to have undocumented Mexican servants and gardeners and nannies, of course, and it is exceedingly common — almost requiredby the RNC — for Republican politician men to be self-hating homosexuals, and it is utterly expected that any Republican in Arizona is going to be a comic book villain/idiot. But to get all three in one person (a sheriff, even!) running for Congress is just a bit overboard.

So, according to the Phoenix New-Times and the thousand gleeful news articles that have followed this weekend, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu tried to deport his homosexual lover, “Jose.” That’s about all you need to know.

But, of course, you would like a few comical details, to help with the gloating:

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu — who became the face of Arizona border security nationally after he started stridently opposing illegal immigration — threatened his Mexican ex-lover with deportation when the man refused to promise never to disclose their years-long relationship, the former boyfriend and his lawyer tell New Times.

The latest of the alleged threats were made through Babeu’s personal attorney, who’s also running the sheriff’s campaign for Congress in District 4, the ex-lover says.

~

Babeu has decided, OBVIOUSLY, to continue running for Congress.
