Breaking News – Tips for an Unarmed Black Teen

Via: The Onion: America’s Finest News Source

1

  • Shy away from dangerous, heavily policed areas.
  • Avoid swaggering or any other confident behavior that suggests you are not completely subjugated.
  • Be sure not to pick up any object that could be perceived by a police officer as a firearm, such as a cell phone, a food item, or nothing.
  • Explain in clear and logical terms that you do not enjoy being shot, and would prefer that it not happen.
  • Don’t let society stereotype you as a petty criminal. Remember that you can be seen as so much more, from an armed robbery suspect, to a rape suspect, to a murder suspect.
  • Try to see it from a police officer’s point of view: You may be unarmed, but you’re also black.
  • Avoid wearing clothing associated with the gang lifestyle, such as shirts and pants.
  • Revel in the fact that by simply existing, you exert a threatening presence over the nation’s police force.
  • IMPORTANT:Be as polite and straightforward as possible when police officers are kicking the shit out of you.

Gordon Parks – Image Gallery

Via: Vintage Everyday

1

Gordon Parks was one of the seminal figures of twentieth century photography.

In 2012 the Gordon Parks Foundation discovered more than 70 color transparencies at the bottom of an old storage box, wrapped in paper and masking tape and marked, “Segregation Series.”

These never before series of images not only give us a glimpse into the everyday life of African Americans during the 50′s but are also in full color, something that is uncommon for photographs from that era.

“Quote of the Year”

National Rifle Association President (NRA) president Jim Porter

“I’m very proud to be taking the lead here at the NRA. We need to really buckle down and strap on our best arguments to defend what is our God-given rights. No more northern folk tryin’ take away what is rightfully ours. I will not stand by and let some liberal-elitists try to ruin what has made this country great, especially a liberal of, you know, a different breed.”

~

When asked to clarify Porter said,

“I don’t have to clarify. You know gall darn well what I mean. In fact, it’s only a matter of time before we can own colored people again. They sure as hell won’t be our leaders. It’s out-right embarrassing. The War of Northern Aggression  (Civil War) made it all possible, and you be best to know it’s all gonna change back.

I’ll be on the front lines making sure it happens. I don’t want my grandkids growing up taking orders from a colored man (President Obama).

It’s our God-given right to keep them as property and keep them in line.”

Aide: Romney values ‘Anglo-Saxon’ (WHITE) ties

Via: UPI

Mitt  Romney would restore  an “Anglo-Saxon” touch to U.S.-British ties that  President Barack Obama doesn’t value, an aide said as Romney was to arrive in London.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee — who begins a weeklong trip  to Britain, Israel and Poland Wednesday — is better placed to understand the  “special relationship” (because he’s white) between the United States and Britain than Obama, whose  father was from Africa (because he’s black), the adviser told the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph in remarks the newspaper speculated might prompt accusations of racial  insensitivity (yeah, ya think?).

“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and [Romney] feels that the special relationship is special,” the adviser said, adding, “The [Obama] White House  didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have (SEE PHOTO).”

personal thought:

I spent ’04 and ’05 in the U.K., and the ‘anti-Americanism’ was very evident because many Brits felt the U.S. had suckered ‘Blair – the poodle’ into the war.

I believe for ther most part, I was able to convince them, I did NOT vote for Bush!
