Republicans Blast Nevada Rancher for Failing to Use Commonly Accepted Racial Code Words

Via: The Borowitz Report – New Yorker

Republican politicians blasted the Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy on Thursday for making flagrantly racist remarks instead of employing the subtler racial code words the G.O.P. has been using for decades.

“We Republicans have worked long and hard to develop insidious racial code words like ‘entitlement society’ and ‘personal responsibility,’ ” said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). “There is no excuse for offensive racist comments like the ones Cliven Bundy made when there are so many subtler ways of making the exact same point.”

Fox News also blasted the rancher, saying in a statement, “Cliven Bundy’s outrageous racist remarks undermine decades of progress in our effort to come up with cleverer ways of saying the same thing.”

Watch: FOX News Fumes as Breaking Bad Star Praises Obamacare

In a recent interview with Katie Couric, Bryan Cranston, the star of AMC’s critically-acclaimed show Breaking Bad, expressed his support of Obamacare, calling it “fantastic.” In response, Fox News criticized his comments because, well, do you really need a reason?

Breaking Bad, as most people know, revolves around the exploits of Walter White, played by Cranston, a once-humble high school chemistry teacher who is compelled to start cooking meth to cover the costs of his lung cancer treatment.

In the interview, Cranston acknowledged that, despite problems, the Affordable Care Act, known popularly as Obamacare, is a step in the right direction.

Anything worthwhile is going to go through growing pains, period. But this is [President Obama’s] legacy, and I think it’s a great one. Because I don’t think that basic health care should be a privilege of the rich. It should be a right to all.”

~

Cue the ire of the Fox News talking heads, who lambasted Cranston for being both hypocritical and a SHRILL for the Obama Administration.

The Five’s Eric Bolling sarcastically remarked that he loved it “when the rich guys say, ‘Basic health care shouldn’t be a privilege.’”

Greg Gutfeld followed this by questioning: “How weird is it that a guy who plays a dark, brooding anti-hero is really a puppet to The Man? I mean, he just propagandized for President Obama.”

Rick Santorum (R-PA) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Huffington Post

During an appearance on Fox News Thursday night, former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) discussed the death of Nelson Mandela, saying the former South African president fought “great injustice” just like Republicans who are battling OBAMACARE.

“Nelson Mandela stood up against a great injustice and was willing to pay a huge price for that. That’s the reason he’s mourned today, because of that struggle that he performed,” Santorum said. “But you’re right, I mean, what he was advocating for was not necessarily the right answer, but he was fighting against some great injustice, and I would make the argument that we have a great injustice going on right now in this country with an ever-increasing size of government that is taking over and controlling people’s lives, and Obamacare is front and center in that.”

The statement, pointed out by Slate’s Dave Weigel in a tweet Friday morning, came after Fox News host Bill O’Reilly claimed Mandela “was a great man, but he was a COMMUNIST.”

And Frothy didn’t add, “Yeah, and a NAZI too!”

Fox News Chastises People For Giving To The Homeless: ‘You’re An Enabler’

Via: Think Progress

Donning a fake beard, John Stossel sat on a New York City sidewalk with a cardboard sign asking people for help. “I just begged for an hour but I did well,” he said. “If I did this for an eight-hour day I would’ve made 90 bucks. Twenty-three thou for a year. Tax-free.”

Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who recently purchased a $4 million home in Greenwich, GASPED in HORROR at the prospect of poor people earning $23,000 a year.

Some people asking for money “are actually scammers,” Hasselbeck warned, seemingly unaware of the irony that the only panhandling “scammer” Fox News identified was Stossel.

Because he was able to successfully convince good-hearted pedestrians that he was poor, Stossel went on to chastise people who gave the homeless money because, in his view, “most are not…for real.”

He implored viewers to stop giving money to poor people because if you do, “you’re an enabler.”
