“Quote of the Day”

Chris Christie: “Obama’s indecisiveness on Hamas is exactly why there’s violence in Israel.”

Reporter: “So what should he do about Hamas?”

(wait for it)

Chris Christie: “I’d rather not say.”

personal thought:

Clearly another, ‘GOP Heavyweight’!

Hotel Shangri-LA Discriminated Against Jews, Jury Finds

Via: Huffington Post

A jury determined Wednesday that the owner of the Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica discriminated against Jews during a charity event in July 2010. The owner reportedly yelled “Get the [expletive] Jews out of my pool!” and forced the party to pack up and leave.

The owner, Tehmina Adaya (see above – ‘upon hearing the verdict’ ), a Muslim of Pakistani descent, denied charges that she made anti-semitic statements and discriminated against the Jewish group.

On the day in question, 18 young leaders of Friends of the Israel Defense Forces were holding a charity event at the hotel to help children of fallen IDF soldiers go to summer camps, the Jewish Chronicle reports.

See more photos, HERE:

Israëlis Bidermanas (1911–1980), who worked under the name of Izis, was a Lithuanian-Jewish photographer who worked in France and is best known for his photographs of French circuses and of Paris.

Born in Marijampole, Lithuania, Bidermanas arrived in France in 1930 to become a painter. In 1933 he directed a photographic studio in the 13th Arrondissement of Paris.

During World War II, being a Jew, he had to leave occupied Paris. He went to Ambazac, in the Limousin, where he adopted the pseudonym Izis and where he was arrested and tortured by the Nazis.

He was freed by the French Resistance and became an underground fighter. At that time he photographed his companions, including Colonel Georges Guingouin. The poet and underground fighter Robert Giraud was the first to write about Izis in the weekly magazine Unir, a magazine created by the Resistance.

Joe Pitts (R-PA) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: The Times of Israel

t seems that Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) is a tad out of the loop on matters of Middle East peace. If it were up to him, Israelis and Palestinians would restart peace talks under the guidance of their respective leaders, Ariel Sharon and Yasser Arafat.

With the global war against terrorism, it is now incumbent on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Yasir Arafat to clamp down on Palestinian extremists that have perpetuated violence and to restart a peace process that has collapsed,” wrote Pitts in a recent, rather outdated response letter to a constituent.

His advice does not seem to take into account the fact that:

– Arafat died in 2004

– Sharon has been in a coma since 2006

Neither Arafat nor Sharon were available for comment.

Gaffney – UN Intervention Into Libya an Ominous Precedent For Israel

There are many reasons to be worried about the bridge-leap the Obama Administration has just undertaken in its war with Muammar Gaddafi. How it will all end is just one of them.

Particularly concerning is the prospect that what we might call the Gaddafi Precedent will be used in the not-too-distant future to justify and threaten the use of U.S. military forces against an American ally: ISRAEL.
