India: Muslim Politician Says Women Who Have Been Raped Should Be Hanged In Accordance With Islamic Law…

Via: Weasel Zippers

In a bizarre and grotesque statement, the state Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Abu Azmi said women who were raped should also be punished. The statement came after this reporter questioned Azmi about SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav’s comments on rape.

When this reporter asked for Azmi’s comments on his chief’s statements, he replied that rape was punishable by death in Islam. “Rape is punishable by hanging in Islam. But here, nothing happens to women, only to men. Even the woman is guilty.”

He further added, “In India, if you have sex with a person with consent, it’s fine. But if that same person complains, it’s a problem. Nowadays, we see a lot of such cases. Girls complain when someone touches them, and even when someone doesn’t touch them. It becomes a problem then, and the man’s honour is ruined in this. If rape happens with or without consent, it should be punished as prescribed in Islam.”

When asked for a solution to the problem of rapes, Azmi had this to say: “Solution is this: any woman if, whether married or unmarried, goes along with a man, with or without her consent, should be hanged. Both should be hanged. It shouldn’t be allowed even if a woman goes by consent.”

News Flash:

It is expected next week Kansas will enact similar lesislation, with the exceptions ONLY WOMEN will be hanged. After all, ‘Boys, will be Boys’.

Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) – he’s heard Boehner (See gif) is going to resign

Via: Salon

By a 332-to-94 vote Thursday night, the House passed a budget deal that – despite taking money from federal workers’ pockets and leaving long-term unemployed in the lurch – was staunchly opposed by major right-wing groups.

Among the critics was Tea Party stalwart and Kansas congressman Tim Huelskamp, whom Boehner KICKED OFF off the Budget Committee in an alleged purge last year.

In an interview before the vote, Huelskamp charged that the deal “doesn’t avoid a government shutdown,” told Salon he hears RUMORS Boehner’s retiring.

Jack Talbert (L-KN) – ‘Libertarian Moron of the Day’

Via: UPI

Jack Talbert is–sorry, was–a Libertarian running for Congress in  Kansas’s 4th District.

“Essentially, when you’re running against Mike  Pompeo, you’re drawing straws to see who’s going to lose to him,” said the man  formerly known as Talbert, referring to his popular incumbent opponent.

But win or lose, the Libertarian candidate for the Wichita seat is no longer  called Jack Talbert, since he legally changed his name to Thomas Jefferson.

“When people see that Thomas Jefferson’s on the ballot, half will think I’m  committed to the Libertarian Party, and the other half will probably think I  should be committed,” Jefferson told the Topeka Capital-Journal. “But whether you  think it’s crazy or not, hopefully it gets people thinking about the founding  fathers and Thomas Jefferson in particular and whether we have that form of  government still.”

Jefferson said he hopes his candidacy will raise the  profile of his “Thomas Jefferson Project,” aimed at limiting the powers of the  Federal Reserve and returning to the gold standard (and slavery, perhaps?).

“God Hates No One”

Nine-year-old Josef Miles felt the urge to make his own counter-protest sign upon encountering protestors from the Westboro Baptist Church during Graduation Day activities Saturday on the Washburn University campus.
Securing a small sketchpad and pencil from his mother, he created his own sign that read simply,
“God Hates No One.”

“Quote of the Day”

“This is the height of unfairness.  It is wrong that in the United States of America, a teacher or a nurse or a construction worker who earns $50,000 should pay a higher tax rate than somebody pulling in $50 million.  It is wrong for Warren Buffett’s secretary to pay a higher tax rate than Warren Buffett.  And he agrees with me.  So do most Americans – Democrats, Independents, and Republicans.  And I know that many of our wealthiest citizens would agree to contribute a little more if it meant reducing the deficit and strengthening the economy that made their success possible.

This isn’t about class warfare.  This is about the nation’s welfare.  It’s about making choices that benefit not just the people who’ve done fantastically well over the last few decades, but that benefits the middle class, and those fighting to get to the middle class, and the economy as a whole.”

Hurricane Irene – Wayne, New Jersey

Via: The Telegraph

A piano chair hangs from the ceiling in the home of Martha Gordon as she looks through her home in Wayne, New Jersey, in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

The chair, which was on top of a piano, was lodged into the ceiling when the Ramapo River crested, sending floodwaters into her home.

Gordon, who has lived at the house for 50 years, says she has given up and will be tearing the house down and moving to Maine.

personal thought:

I hope it won’t be the case, but if it doesn’t work out for Ms. Gordon in Maine, she might want to consider Kansas.

Then again, maybe not.

He said, “But, the Better Business Bureau is closed at 5am!”

Via: The Smoking Gun

A Kansas man who called police yesterday to claim that he was robbed by two female escorts hired via an online service later admitted that he just “wanted a refund” from the women.

Ahmed Hasnain, 26, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge in connection with the bizarre incident at a Motel 6 in Wichita, according to a Wichita Police Department report.

Hasnain, pictured in the above mug shot, told cops that he had expected only one hooker to show up and “didn’t like that there were two women.” After paying the pair $160, Hasnain decided that he wanted his money back (a request that was rebuffed by the hired hands).

So that’s when Hasnain called 911 at around 5 AM to lodge his complaint.

Based on his own statements, Hasnain was charged with patronizing a prostitute.

Perhaps he will consider calling the Better Business Bureau the next time he wants to register a consumer complaint.

I suppose Mr. Hasnain could of called his Imam?

Naw, probably bad idea.
