Cary Gordon – ‘Xristian Xrazy of the Day’

1

Via: Raw Story

An anti-gay pastor in Sioux City, Iowa is demanding the city remove a newly appointed member of its Human Rights Commission who told him “to burn in hell” three years ago.

Rev. Cary Gordon of Cornerstone World Outreach said in a blog post last week that Scott Raasch sent him “threatening, hateful, anti-religious, slanderous, and amoral” messages on Facebook in 2010.

According to Gordon, Raasch was upset by the campaign to remove three Iowa justices whoignored the reality that the behavior of sodomy was criminalized under our constitution for nearly 200 years in American history”  (just makes the shit up –  hey. why not?) by ruling same-sex couples were allowed to marry.

“You are haters and bigots and you will get what’s coming to you sooner or later. I hope you rot in hell,” Raasch wrote in one message. In another message, Raasch said Gordon and his family deserved to burn in hell.

“The sooner the better for our community! Now be a good little bigot and go break some more laws now so you can get more attention for your snake oil show,” he wrote.

Raasch, who is gay, told the Associated Press he was sorry if Gordon and his family felt threatened. He said he was remorseful about the inflammatory remarks.

The Sioux City Human Rights Commission is tasked with investigating complaints of discrimination. Councilmembers Rhonda Capron and Tom Padgett have defended the appointment of Raasch to the commission, while Councilman John Fitch said he was concerned.

“Religion is one of the protected classes,” Fitch explained. “He showed no regard for a pastor or a church and his beliefs.”

House Republicans Abandon Defense Of DOMA

1

Via: Think Progress

House Republicans have been using taxpayer funding to foot the $2.3 million dollar bill to defend the Defense of Marriage Act in a number of cases. While the Supreme Court was weighing Windsor the other cases challenging DOMA were put on hold.

Now that the Court has overturned DOMA, the House is abandoning its defense in the other cases.

personal thought:

I know $2.3 million is chump change, but for ‘Boehner, boner, whatever’ to spend millions on a lost cause in order to please the ‘Xristian Xrazies’ back home is simply APPALLING!

Hey, Mr. Speaker have another drink.

Pennslyvania AG won’t defend ban on same sex marriage

1

Via: Wonkette

Well here’s something kind of cool: Pennslyvania’s Attorney General, Kathleen Kane, announced Thursday that she won’t defend the state’s dumb ban on same-sex marriage in a lawsuit because she believes the law is “wholly unconstitutional.” The state has been sued by the ACLU, which is representing 23 Pennsylvania residents* in an attempt to overturn the 1996 law. Republican Governor Tom Corbett, who supports it, will likely assign the case to state general counsel James. D Schultz.

Kane’s refusal to defend the law has ignited the predictable grumbling about How Dare She Put Her Personal Preferences Above Her Official Duty, but Kane says she couldn’t defend a law that she believes is illegal:

“If there is a law that I feel that does not conform with the Pennsylvania state constitution and the U.S. Constitution, then I ethically cannot do that as a lawyer,” she said.

Family Research Council – ‘On Our Knees for America’

1

Via: Mock, Paper, Scissors

This is the new logo from famous hate-group Family Research Council that they will use to help rally their troops of mouth-breathers and god-botherers to fight the Supremes for overturning DOMA.

Now, aside from the little man who looks like he might be giving head, and then the rallying cry, “On our knees for America” followed by the tagline, “I’m In” sorta seals the deal for me.

Whoever their graphic designer is, I’m betting is laughing all the way to the alter with his/her same-sex partner.

(2 of 2) Nancy Pelosi – “Quote of the Day”

1

Via: Huffngton Post

It took Nancy Pelosi just two words on Wednesday to take Michele Bachmann down.

The House minority leader was asked during a press conference what she thought of Bachmann’s intense denunciation earlier in the day of the Supreme Court’s historic rulings in favor of gay marriage. She replied with a shrug:

“Who cares?”

Senator Lindsey ‘Lohan’ Graham (R-SC) – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

1

Via: Dependable Renegade

“In World War II, the mentality of the public was that our whole way of life was at risk, we’re all in. We censored the mail. When you wrote a letter overseas, it got censored. When a letter was written back from the battlefield to home, they looked at what was in the letter to make sure they were not tipping off the enemy,” Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told reporters on Capitol Hill. “If I thought censoring the mail was necessary, I would suggest it, but I don’t think it is.”

What is especially galling to me is that Miss Lindsey allegedly went to law school, where he SHOULD have learned about this little thing called the Constitution. And yeah, as a member (and I use that term for its alternate definition) of the United States Congress, he took an oath to uphold this little thing called the Constitution.

But, as his savior and lord Jesus Christ George W. Bush, once said:

“The Constitution is just a piece of paper.”  “If you don’t have anything to hide…”

Court to determine if Craig’s (R-ID) airport bathroom ‘blow-job’ was OFFICIAL Senate business

1

Via: Raw Story

A federal court is set to rule this week on whether ex-Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID) broke the law when he appropriated $216,000.00. in campaign funds to defend himself against an arrest for soliciting sex from an undercover police officer in an airport bathroom. According to McClatchy Newspapers, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman’s ruling in the case could have far-reaching implications in terms of what politicians accused of wrongdoing are allowed to do in their own defense. (Or, allowed to do in a bathroom stall?)

At issue is the question whether U.S. senator-turned-lobbyist Craig was on “official business,” as his lawyers contend, when on June 11, 2007, he stole up outside Minneapolis-St. Paul Police Sgt. Dave Karsnia’s toilet stall and began to peer through the crack in the stall door, fondling his wedding ring (‘sanctity of marriage’, right) that he was a married man in search of quick, anonymous sex with another man.
