“The only thing that the media has speculated on is that it’s going to be various men that are running,” she replied.

“They haven’t speculated, for instance, that I’m going to run. What if I decide to run? And there’s a chance I could run.”

Archbishop Carlson (See Photo) claims he wasn’t sure it was illegal for priests to have sex with kids

Via: Raw Story

1

St. Louis Archbishop Robert Carlson testified last month that he wasn’t sure whether it was illegal for priests to have sex with children while he served as chancellor of the St. Paul and Minneapolis archdiocese.

The former chancellor gave a deposition last month in a lawsuit that claims the Minnesota archdiocese and the Diocese of Winona created a public nuisance by keeping information on abusive priests secret, reported Minnesota Public Radio.

The 69-year-old Carlson also faces a massive clergy abuse lawsuit in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, where he’s served as archbishop since 2009.

One document made public in that case shows more than 100 priests and church employees have been accused of sexual abuse, and the Missouri Supreme Court ordered the archdiocese to turn over their names under seal.

The Minnesota lawsuit was filed by a man who claimed a priest abused him during the 1970s, and Carlson told the plaintiff’s attorneys that his understanding of those accusations had changed over the years.

“I’m not sure whether I knew it was a crime or not,” Carlson said. “I understand today it’s a crime.”

QUESTION:

I know you are ‘innocent until proven quilty’, but couldn’t Pope Francis say, “Sorry Cardinal Dick, you’re FIRED!”

Michele ‘crazy eyes’ Bachmann warns of link between census, Japanese internment

Via: TPM

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) is taking her refusal to fully fill out her Census form, which is a crime punishable by a $5,000 fine, to a whole new level: Invoking the memory of the Japanese internment during World War II, and the evil role that the Census played in it!

During an interview this morning on Fox News, Bachmann mostly focused on the danger of her personal information falling into the hands of the dreaded menace ACORN. But at one point, she made a very interesting appeal to history:

“Take this into consideration. If we look at American history, between 1942 and 1947, the data that was collected by the Census Bureau was handed over to the FBI and other organizations at the request of President Roosevelt, and that’s how the Japanese were rounded up and put into the internment camps,” said Bachmann.I’m NOT saying that that’s what the Administration is planning to do, BUT I am saying that private personal information that was given to the Census Bureau in the 1940s was used against Americans to round them up, in a violation of their constitutional rights, and put the Japanese in internment camps.”

Sure, Yeah, Michele Bachmann Will Be Romney’s Vice President, Why Not

Via: Wonkette

Could it be true, Wonkers?

A Christmas Miracle in July?

Could Michele ‘bat-shit insane’ Bachmann (SEE PHOTO) end up being His Lord High Hairgel Mitt Romney’s pick for vice president?

~

Yeah, probably not, because our Mittens is many (many) things, but a stone cold idiot is not one of them?

It’s cute though that he probably asked her for her tax returns and stuff, you know, made her feel special, greased her a little, it’s better to have a Michele Bachmann inside the tent shining her crazy eyes out than the terrifying opposite.

But let’s say some witchy cabal of Wonkerati managed to hex Ol’ Willard into choosing Ms. B. (And let us say for the sake of this exercise, that the Rom-mann dream team then won the election.)

What would Vice President Bachmann’s portfolio be?

* Head new Task Force on Curing teh Ghey.

* Organize Department of Home Schooling.

* Start up the New Inquisition.

Via: Princeton Union-Eagle

Former Republican Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch of Buffalo on Thursday, Dec. 22 expressed “deep regret” to her constituents, Republican Party members, and her family for engaging in a relationship with an unnamed Senate staffer.
.
This is the first statement from Koch about the relationship since the senator abruptly resigned her leadership post late last week, unleashing a scandal that enveloped the Senate Republican Caucus.
.
“I have made some mistakes and errors in judgment for which I am deeply sorry by engaging in a relationship with a Senate staffer,” said Koch in a statement.

A gay man in Minnesota has apologised on behalf of his community after a married state senator who opposed equal marriage rights had an “illicit affair” with a male member of her staff.

In an open letter to Republican state senator Amy Koch, John Medeiros said he was speaking for all gays and lesbians in the state when he regretted that their “selfish requests to marry those we love has cheapened and degraded traditional marriage so much that we caused you to stray from your own holy union”.
