Michele ‘batshit insane’ Bachmann – yet another, ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

“[the U.S.’s (OBAMA!) funding of al Qaeda in Syria] happened and as of today the United States is willingly, knowingly, intentionally sending arms to terrorists, now what this says to me, I’m a believer in Jesus Christ, as I look at the End Times scripture, this says to me that the leaf is on the fig tree (and the bats are loose in the belfry) and we are to understand the signs of the times, which is your ministry, we are to understand where we are in God’s end times history. Rather than seeing this as a negative, we need to rejoice, Maranatha Come Lord Jesus, His day is at hand.

When we see up is down and right is called wrong, when this is happening, we were told this; these days would be as the days of Noah.”

U.S., Pakistan rift over bin Laden deepens

Via: Seattle Times / New York Times

The Parliament then passed a resolution declaring the drone strikes were a violation of sovereignty EQUIVALENT to the secret attack on bin Laden’s house in Abbottabad.

The lawmakers warned Pakistan could cut supply lines to U.S. forces in Afghanistan if there were more such attacks. The resolution contained NO CONDEMNATION of the Afghan Taliban, who killed more than 80 Pakistani paramilitary cadets the same day.

Kerry will raise an issue the administration has refused to discuss publicly: Pakistan’s escalating production of nuclear fuel to expand its arsenal of 100 or so nuclear weapons.

Members of Congress, in closed sessions, have complained that because the $3 BILLION American ANNUAL AID to the Pakistani military is fungible, the United States is effectively helping bankroll the fastest-growing nuclear arsenal in the world. “It will jeopardize funding if that continues,” Kerry said.

definition: fungible: Law (especially of goods) being of such nature or kind as to be freely exchangeable or replaceable, in whole or in part, for another of like nature or kind.

the good doctor’s thoughts:

1) If the Pakistani government doesn’t stop being assholes, I suggest being ‘fungible’ is a damn good idea.

2. Cutting $3BILLION in aid OVERNIGHT might be a PROBLEMATIC; so I suggest we might want to,

Reduce the aid by half, each week:

current: $3,000,000,000 per year

1st week: $1,500,000,000 per year

2nd week: $750,000,000 per year

3rd week: $375,000,000 per year

26th week: $44.70

3) I suggest that this will possibly/probably cause the Pakistani government to become even more asshole’ish than they already are, so back to being fungible; so then:

– Use the $3B to reduce our national debt.

– Use the $3B to BUY 5,000 cruise missiles ($600k per) in order to REDUCE the arsenal of 100 or so nuclear weapons.

Osama bin Laden Porn Stash?

Via: Huffington Post

A stash of pornography was found in the hideout of Osama bin Laden by the U.S. commandos who killed him, current and former U.S. officials said on Friday.

The pornography recovered in bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, consists of modern, electronically recorded video and is fairly extensive, according to the officials, who discussed the discovery with Reuters on condition of anonymity.

The officials said they were not yet sure precisely where in the compound the pornography was discovered or who had been viewing it. Specifically, the officials said they did not know if bin Laden himself had acquired or viewed the materials.

He may be homeless, but he has Facebook

Via: Gizmodo

The homeless man I photographed has rigged up some speakers to a shopping cart, and seems to have some sort of lighting/solar panel rigged up atop of his cart. I’ve seen him around town a couple of times, and he’s always seems to be doing a laptop DJ routine (all techno music).

Via: Yahoo News / AP

From a shabby, makeshift office, he ran a global terrorist empire. The world’s most wanted man watched newscasts of himself from a tiny television perched atop a rickety old desk cluttered with wires.

For years, the world only saw the 54-year-old Osama bin Laden in the rare propaganda videos that trickled out, the ones portraying him as a charismatic religious figure unfazed by being the target of a worldwide manhunt.

President Bush – his feelings were hurt

Via: NY Daily News

“He doesn’t feel personally snubbed and appreciates the invitation, but  Obama’s claiming all the credit and a lot of other people deserve some of it,”  the source added.

“Obama gave no credit whatsoever to the intelligence infrastructure the Bush administration set up that is being hailed from the left and right as setting in  motion the operation that got Bin Laden. It rubbed Bush the wrong way.” – ( ‘the source’? probably )

Via: CNN (July 29, 2004)

The White House’s former counterterrorism coordinator blasts President Bush in a television interview and a new book, saying the president ignored warnings about terrorist attacks before 9/11 and has done “a terrible job” battling terrorism since then.

“Frankly, I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds that he’s done such great things about terrorism,” Richard Clarke told CBS’ “60 Minutes” in an interview Sunday night. “He ignored it. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11. Maybe. We’ll never know.”

McCain: ‘Waterboarding didn’t help’ – (but he voted for it)

Via: Politico

“So far I know of no information that was obtained, that would have been useful,  by ‘advanced interrogation.’

In fact, according to published reports … some of  the key people who knew about this courrier denied it,” McCain said, careful to  note that he was not relaying information from Panetta’s classified session with  Senate Intelligence and Armed Services Committee members.

Via: Huffington Post (February 8, 2008)

Today, the Senate brought the Intelligence Authorization Bill to the floor, containing a provision from Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) that establishes one interrogation standard, requiring the intelligence community to abide by the same standards as articulated in the Army Field Manual and banning waterboarding.

Just hours ago, the Senate voted in favor of the bill, 51-45.

Earlier today, ThinkProgress noted that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), a former prisoner of war, has spoken strongly in favor of implementing the Army Field Manual standard.

When confronted today with the decision of whether to stick with his conscience or cave to the right wing, McCAIN CHOSE to DITCH his PRINCIPLES and instead vote to preserve waterboarding.

my thoughts:

‘cave to the right wing”

In order to win the primaries/caucuses the GOP candidates will have to continue to ‘cave to the right wing’.

But this will make it ‘difficult’ to win the general election, and as far as being a good president, ‘impossible’.

John McCain and George W. Bush, to name ONLY two.

President Obama: “But we don’t need to spike the football”

Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara  – October 9, 1967

Via: L.A. Times

The Obama administration will not release photos showing Osama bin Laden after he was killed by U.S. forces, the president has told CBS News in an interview to air Sunday on “60 Minutes.”

“The fact of the matter is, this was somebody who was deserving of the justice that he received. And I think Americans and people around the world are glad that he is gone. But we don’t need to spike the football,” Obama said.

my opinion:

bin Laden is dead.

Like ‘Che’  he will be made a martyr/hero to many around the world; and someday, a sad day, old men and little kids at your local McD’s will be wearing ‘Che’ and ‘Osama’ t-shirts.

As far as the release of the corpse shots, fuck the ‘deathers’.
