President Obama’s re-election strategy

Works for me.

Michele ‘bat-shit insane’ Bachmann’s staff has been tasked to research the word ‘verbatim’.

Socialist, perhaps?

Rand Paul (R-KY) – GOP Moron of the Day

Via: Think Progress

May 11, 2011

With regard to the idea of whether you have a right to health care, you have realize what that implies. It’s not an abstraction. I’m a physician. That means you have a right to come to my house and conscript me. It means you believe in slavery. It means that you’re going to enslave not only me, but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants who work in my office, the nurses.”

May 18, 2010 (less than a year earlier)

But on Thursday evening, the ophthalmologist from Bowling Green said there was one thing HE WOULD NOT CUT: Medicare physician payments

In fact, Paul — who says 50% of his patients are on Medicare — wants to end cuts to physician payments under a program now in place called the sustained growth rate, or SGR.

“Physicians should be allowed to make a comfortable living.”

personal thought:

I agree physians should be able to make a comfortale living; but people who are ‘struggling’ should not end up in the ‘poor house’ in order to pay their medical bills.

Or go without, and die.

Rand Paul: Preventing Black Lung Too “Burdensome” To Energy Companies

via: Care2.com

Republican Senator Rand Paul has made it repeatedly clear that he sides with businesses when it comes to absolutely any sort of financial policy or regulation — be it taxes or toilets.  Still, even his own home state of Kentucky seemed somewhat shocked when he stated that there is no reason to continue with any policies to help decrease the instances of black lung among coal miners, declaring any intervention or government regulation too “BURDENSOME” on companies in comparison to the amount of lives it could potentially save.

(note: yeah, like mine safety!)

Paul said during the hearing that the government had done “a pretty good job” in recent decades of reducing the incidence of black lung — an often incurable and fatal disease caused by breathing years of coal dust.

But figures from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health show a SPIKE in black lung rates in RECENT YEARS.

Black lung KILLS approximately 1000 MINERS PER YEAR, and the number of cases have doubled since 1995, when the Coal Mine Health and Safety Act was REPEALED.

According to the paper,  Paul received $136,277 in campaign contributions from mining interests during his senate run.

Rand like his father, are BOTH unconscionable ASS-HOLES!

GOP 2012 hopefuls fall short of ideal

It’s said in politics that you can’t beat somebody with nobody, and when you look at the 2012 presidential race, you definitely have somebody in the person of incumbent Barack Obama. One opponent might be Sarah Palin. Nobody. Or Newt Gingrich. Nobody. Or Mike Huckabee. Nobody. Or – it goes on.

It goes on, and on, and on.
