“Quotes of the Day”

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling told his girlfriend that he doesn’t want her to bring black people to his games or post pictures with black people on Instagram, according to unverified audio obtained by TMZ.

The tape begins in the middle of an argument between Sterling and his girlfriend, V. Stiviano. Sterling appears to be upset that Stiviano, who is BLACK and Mexican, has been posting photos to Instagram of herself with black people — in particular, with Magic Johnson.

“It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people,” he is heard saying. “Do you have to?”

Stiviano says that all she did was take a picture with someone she admires. “I think the fact that you admire [Magic] — I’ve known him well, and he should be admired,” Sterling replies. “And I’m just saying that it’s too bad you can’t admire him privately. And during your ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE, your whole life, admire him — bring him here, feed him, fuck him, I don’t care. You can do anything. But don’t put him on an Instagram for the world to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games. OK?”

“Quote of the Day”

“We can talk about baseball. Talk about politics. Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated.

“We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country.

“The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.”

FlORIDA – Larry Kenton – ‘Father of the Year’

Via: Raw Story

A 44-year-old Florida man is custody after being accused of throwing pieces of bricks at children and shouting racial slurs at them before trying to escape from police on his ex-wife’s bicycle.

According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal, police responded to a Dec. 16 call that Larry Kenton was drunk and causing as disturbance at his ex-wife’s home.

The ex-wife told officers that Kenton had come to get some of his belongings. She said she asked him to go away, but he forced his way into the house anyway.

Kenton began arguing with his daughter because he did not approve of her dating an African-American youth and referred to her as a “N*GGER LOVER,” according to the arrest report.

As he was exiting the home, he apparently saw the boyfriend and shouted, “You are the one!”

Kenton was accused of hitting the boy in the face and the head, and then choking him. Police said that he then picked up a brick and used it to strike the boy in the back of the head.

After an unidentified man came to assist the boy, Kenton began shouting racial slurs at nearby children and throwing pieces of bricks at them. The arrest report said that at least two of the children were hit.

Police said that Kenton hopped on his ex-wife’s bicycle and attempted to flee from them, but was quickly caught. He faces charges on multiple counts of aggravated child abuse, resisting an officer, driving under the influence, driving with license revoked and battery. He was also charged for having an unregistered motor vehicle.

Kenton remained in the custody of Volusia County Corrections WITHOUT BOND as of Thursday.

Aide: Romney values ‘Anglo-Saxon’ (WHITE) ties

Via: UPI

Mitt  Romney would restore  an “Anglo-Saxon” touch to U.S.-British ties that  President Barack Obama doesn’t value, an aide said as Romney was to arrive in London.

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee — who begins a weeklong trip  to Britain, Israel and Poland Wednesday — is better placed to understand the  “special relationship” (because he’s white) between the United States and Britain than Obama, whose  father was from Africa (because he’s black), the adviser told the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph in remarks the newspaper speculated might prompt accusations of racial  insensitivity (yeah, ya think?).

“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and [Romney] feels that the special relationship is special,” the adviser said, adding, “The [Obama] White House  didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have (SEE PHOTO).”

personal thought:

I spent ’04 and ’05 in the U.K., and the ‘anti-Americanism’ was very evident because many Brits felt the U.S. had suckered ‘Blair – the poodle’ into the war.

I believe for ther most part, I was able to convince them, I did NOT vote for Bush!

4 Years Later, Race Is Still Issue for Some Voters

Via: New York Times

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — This is the land of die-hard Democrats — mill workers, coal miners and union members. They have voted party line for generations, forming a reliable constituency for just about any Democrat who decides to run for office.

But when it comes to President Obama, a small part of this constituency balks.

“Certain precincts in this county are not going to vote for Obama,” said John Corrigan, clerk of courts for Jefferson County, who was drinking coffee in a furniture shop downtown one morning last week with a small group of friends, retired judges and civil servants. “I don’t want to say it, but we all know why.”

A retired state employee, Jason Foreman, interjected, “I’ll say it: it’s because he’s black.”

‘Can a White Man Still Be Elected President?’ How Identity Politics Are Creating Public Anxiety and Moral Panic

Via: Alter Net

Over a breakfast of pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs in a backroom in the Nuggett Casino in Pahrump, rural Nevada, the conversation among around 40 men turned to the most auspicious moment for armed insurrection.

“The last thing we want to see is to break out our arms,” said one. “But we need to have ’em in hand, and the government needs to know that we will use [our arms] if they continue down the path they’re on. I’m not promoting arms against our government. But the government needs to know if they go past a certain line in the sand that will take place. That’s why we have the second amendment. That’s why it says we should have a well-regulated militia. Do we have a well-regulated militia? No, we don’t. We’re not even ready. We need to get ready.”

Another, fearing such talk could give a visiting journalist the wrong impression, insisted few in the room would agree with such a ridiculous view.

“This talk about taking up arms against the government is ridiculous, and I don’t think many people in this room believe that. We have a lot of legal avenues to exhaust before we ever get to that.”

But it turned out quite a few did. “Look how much damage Barack Obama and his socialist congress did in eighteen months,” bellowed another. “It could take us ten years to undo this crap. And you say we can’t consider using weapons.”

Alabama State Senator Beason – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Huffington Post

A top Democrat in Alabama is calling on a Republican state senator to resign after he was caught on tape calling black patrons at a casino “ABORINGINES.”

A transcript of the recording was read Thursday during a gambling corruption trial. State Sen. Scott Beason is a key witness in the trial of nine people accused of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation.

He was one of three GOP legislators who wore recording devices for the FBI during its investigation. Transcripts of conversations show him denigrating black people at the Greenetrack gambling hall.

Alabama Democratic Party Chairman Mark Kennedy has called for Beason to resign, but Republican Party Chairman Bill Armistead says Beason is an honorable man who doesn’t have a racist bone in his body.

San Antonio Councilman Williams – ‘GOP Moron of the Day’

Via: Think Progress

Yesterday a Texas judge blocked the city of San Antonio from renaming a street after Cesar Chavez, the late labor activist who fought for higher wages and better working conditions for migrant farm workers.

The restraining order came just days after the City Council voted to rename Durango Street, one of San Antonio’s main thoroughfares.

Chavez was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the country’s highest civilian honor, for his work on civil rights and is a hero to many in the city, which is 61 percent Hispanic. Yet a state district judge sided with groups that protest that naming the street after Chavez somehow interferes with “maintaining] the integrity of our history.”

“We’ve been waiting for fifteen years to get the renaming of a street, a major
street, for Cesar Chavez,” Martinez said. “There are over 200 streets in
the last 10 years that had their names changed, and there was no

Councilman Reed Williams, a white Republican from San Antonio’s posh North

This action feels different to me,” he said. “It feels like a political majority is pushing its will, and it doesn’t have to.”

“The political majority should concern us all, particularly for a group of folks (Hispanic) that have been in the minority that are moving to a majority. We must be sure that everyone that does that understands the absolute responsibility that comes with being in the majority.”

In other words:

“This action feels different to me,” he said. “It feels like a political majority (Hispanic) is pushing its will (on whites), and it doesn’t have to.”

“The political majority (Hispanic) should concern us all (white), particularly for a group of folks (Hispanic) that have been in the minority (now white, WAS Hispanic) that are moving to a majority (now Hispanic, WAS white). We must be sure that everyone (white) that does that understands the absolute responsibility that comes with being in the majority (Hispanic).”

Again, San Antonio is 61% Hispanic.
