BREAKING NEWS: Furious Obama Says Calls to Putin Going Straight to Voice Mail

Via: David Borowitz – New Yorker

In what he called “a provocative and defiant act,” President Obama charged on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin has started letting his calls go directly to voice mail.

Speaking at the White House before this week’s NATO summit, a visibly furious Obama said that Putin’s new practice of letting his calls go straight to voice mail “hampers our ability to discuss the future of Ukraine and other important issues going forward.”

Having left dozens of voice mails for the Russian President, Obama said that he tried to reach him via e-mail on Monday night but received an out-of-office auto reply.

“Given what he has been up to in Ukraine over the past few weeks, I find it impossible believe he has been out of the office,” Obama said.

The President hinted that Putin’s failure to respond to his voice mails could result in additional sanctions and signaled that he did not intend to call the Russian President again. “I have left my last voice mail for him,” he said, adding that the last time he called Putin his mailbox was full.

Giant Hole (See Photo) Forms In Siberia, And Nobody Can Explain Why

Via: Huffington Post

1

A giant hole and has opened in Siberia,  and nobody quite knows why.

The massive hole, which spans about 262 feet in diameter, was spotted recently on the Yamal Peninsula in Russia, commonly known as the “end of the world,” The Siberian Times reported. The depth of the hole is not yet known.

New video footage shows the mysterious hole surrounded by vegetation in a seemingly remote area. The ground on the outskirts of the hole appears to have been displaced, perhaps by whatever caused the hole to form.

Given the crater’s proximity to a natural gas field, one theory is that the hole formed following an explosion, caused by a mixture of gas, salt and water igniting underground.

Sochi Mayor Says There Are No Gay People In His City

1

Via: Huffington Post

The mayor of Sochi is under the impression that there are no gay people in his city.

Anatoly Pakhomov spoke with the BBC ahead of the 2014 Winter Olympics and discussed how gay people would be treated in the Russian region with the country’s “homosexual propaganda” law in place. Pakhomov said gays are welcome at the Games in spite of this, so long as they “respect the laws of the Russian Federation and [don’t] impose their habits on others.”

He claimed gay people do not have to hide their sexuality in Sochi.

“No, we just say that it is your business, it’s your life. But it’s not accepted here in the Caucasus where we live. We do not have them in our city,” (See Photo) he said.

He later admitted that he isn’t absolutely certain there are no gay people in Sochi. “I am not sure, but I don’t bloody know them.”

personal thought:

There’s NO question Mayor Pakhomov will do well in the South Carolina GOP primary.

Chelyabinsk Meteor

In February, a massive, 12,000-ton meteor—the largest known to hit Earth since  1908—flew through the skies above Chelyabinsk, Russia at 60 times  the speed of sound and shattered into pieces. The meteor caused damaged to about  7,200 buildings and caused nearly 1,500 people to seek medical attention for  injuries. Luckily, no one was killed; luckier still, dozens of local residents  caught the event on camera.
